Federal marshals raided three manufacturing plants run by Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories this week at the request of the Food and Drug Administration. All three plants were shut down and more than $20 million in generic drugs were seized after the FDA found continued violations of federal health and safety requirements.

A lawsuit on behalf of 97 former Digitek patients was filed this week in an Illinois court. The Digitek lawsuit filed on behalf of these patients alleges that they were injured after taking tablets of the heart medication that were improperly manufactured at twice their normal strength. Digitek is also sold generically as digoxin.
